God’s Timing Is Not Like Ours
A word from the Lord came to me moments ago and I was more than obliged to answer His call. His messages usually come to me by way of a title. Many times they also come with a main scripture to anchor the message upon, but that is not always the case. At times it may be just a message to the wise, as I call them. However, anything that comes from the Lord will have His word stitched throughout. At times they appear to be more for me personally or for people like me because of the way I deal with things however properly or improperly. As a member of the body of God, many of us have similar circumstances and situations we must deal with. What works for one will normally work for all. The Holy Spirit searches our hearts, wants, and needs. He goes to work on and in us fulfilling what is needed. It looks like I’m the gunny pig for this message.
Many times I will ask the Lord for things I think I need to do His work, so I feel that I deserve what I am seeking. However, I know my thoughts and ways are not like God’s. Therefore I try not to impose my imperfect mind upon God’s Holy mind. The two are not comparable. Knowing that to be true I have learned to humble myself to the will of God, and to His supreme knowledge of all things. What I think I need could be just something I want to satisfy me and not necessarily the kingdom. We are selfish by nature. Therefore it is hard to make that distinction for ourselves at times. It is always best to yield to the Lord and let Him make the final decisions for us.
Some things we feel we need could be legitimate, but it may not be the right time for it. As a very common example, I may request more funds to produce the spiritual videos that I feel are my mission and perhaps my calling. I’ve been doing this for a few years now so when I need funds they show up from some source. When they don’t I start winning. Sometimes it works and others it doesn’t. I know that either way there’s no fooling God. He puts up with my childish tantrums and still has His way with me. He knows my heart and handles me accordingly.
I speak often about aligning our will with God’s will, so they can operate as ONE. God’s divine will is what ultimately controls all things in creation in the end. Obviously, the broken, sinful, and unrighteous things are not of God, but He knows they are coming because of His omnipotence. Nothing happens without His foreknowledge. When He allows horrific things to happen it fills within something He has already prepared the solution.
The things we do that cause harm God will use to turn the final results into His good. Perhaps our good and His good are on different plateaus. God looks out across eternity while we look only as far as our eyes can see. If I were a betting man I would always bet on God. He knows that about me, so He let me whine from time to time. Eventually after I “Be Still” and realize that He is God alone I usually fall back in line. Although I might not have received what I wanted when I wanted it, God did something better that aligned with His divine plan. For that, I am extremely grateful. With time and maturity, I am learning how to let go and allow God to work in and through me, but I still must deal with this carnal nature of mine that seems to be always at war against myself, the spirit man, and the carnal man. Romans 7:14-20.
“For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin. For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is not good. But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that swells in me. For I know that in me nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.”
Originally I only wanted to use the single verse 14 but I could not resist copying the entire passage so you can see this internal battle we have with ourselves. It also explains why we want things that are of our liking rather than God’s requirements. We want what we want when we want it. On the contrary, God sees things in a different light, which is perfection. The two are not even compatible. Therefore we must decide whether to do it God’s way, which is perfect or to do it our way, which is a long way from being perfect. It is our choice and the one we usually make… given our freewill power to decide.
You might be wondering, what does this have to do with God’s timing? I say it has everything to do with it, not for Him but for us. When we use the power that God gave us to circumvent His righteous requirements, we pull ourselves out of His timing and out of His divine will. When we are away from God then we are out of His timing and His hope for us. Not that God does not make all things right according to His purposes but looks at what we do to ourselves and to each other. If there is chaos going on in our lives it was not God that caused it. When things do not come as we expect or hope for, it’s because it is not yet aligned with His divine will. Once they are aligned properly they connect and operate in cinq.
Therefore if we want our timing to match with what God has already seen for us, use the same phrase His Son made when He was about to give the ultimate sacrifice, “Nevertheless, not my will but Your will dear Father.” If you wish to achieve what is possible through God, try to align your thoughts, hopes, wishes, and dreams with His divine will so your timing will be impeccable. To almighty God be the glory. Selah!
